(Warning: graphic content)

The following four photos were taken in March of this year at one of Hungary’s southern border fence gates, where many refugees and migrants stated they were pushed back through after being beaten. The papers hanging on the fence match with the common detail that many interviewed victims claimed – that they were forced to read a sign (written in various languages) on camera before being pushed back through to the Serbian side. The language of the close-up picture is Urdu and the English translation is in its caption.

Warning: The following photos contain graphic images of injuries reportedly caused by Hungarian police. They have been taken by medical teams and volunteers in the north of Serbia and Belgrade. Credits have been included, except in cases when the photographers wished to stay anonymous.
